Abstract:   (5579 Views)
Flame stability in a lean fuel-air mixture is studied experimentally in a metal–ceramic porous burner. Ceramic medium with small pore diameter is inserted on the metal porous medium in order to prevent flame blow off. Position of the flame is obtained with the measured temperature profile in the sidewalls of the burner. Temperature profiles are obtained at different firing rates and equivalence ratios and flame position are investigated. The results show that the range of firing rates which the flame is stable decreases with increasing the equivalence ratio up to 1. With rising equivalence ratio, the flame position moves through metal porous medium. Flame is not formed in ceramic medium at any equivalence ratio.
