Abstract:  

Determining row spacing between PV arrays is one of the important issues in the PV Plants designing. By increasing this space, the ground cost will be increased and the PV plant output power per area will be reduced. In turn, mutual shading can be accrued by decreasing the row spacing, which can lead to the decreasing PV plant output power. This power reduction is despite the tendency of more output power production in limited area such as roof of buildings. In this paper, a new fixed reconfiguration method is used to increase PV arrays installed capacity in the certain area of solar field. For this purpose, the mutual shadow models are determined and the new fixed reconfiguration method is presented for reducing effects of these shadows. Then, the levelized cost of electricity is described as a criterion for determining the optimal row spacing. Finally, the improvement over existing PV plant has been demonstrated by extensive simulation
results.
