Abstract:  
Optimal operation of the combined heat and power system (CHP) depends on the degree of its flexibility and type of operation. So, the financial and technical challenges both in choosing and economic operation of these systems will be raised. In this paper, at first, a CHP system, including auxiliary boiler, absorption and auxiliary cooling system, has change to a flexible system by adding thermal and power storage. Then the optimal operating strategy is presented. The optimal operating strategy of the CHP system is determined so that the electrical, cooling and heating loads are supplied by CHP. Case studies are done taking into account three load level proportional to winter, summer and mild days. These studies evaluated the benefits of using desired system.
